Easter Jeep Safari 2017 Flat Fender Fun Run

This year the kid and i drove out in the Willys. the weather was perfect not too cold like a few years back. We got in to camp Thursday night with just enough time to play around on the famous Potato Salad Hill. that was quite a spectacle. We had made a few tries before breaking the rear drive line and rolling back down to watch as the crew from the show #DieselBrothers showed up and made a great show for everyone watching. The #BroDozer killed it with easy up the hill in short order. I don't have video of it as I was streaming it live on my facebook page.

The next morning we woke up early to meet up for the Friday Flat Fender Fun Run. Some say it's in its' 3rd year as in the current JP magazine that out as of 10/11/17 but I know of it happening 5 times. It's never really been promoted. It's something that has been spoke of in the online forums and facebook groups. People come from all over the states to make it. This year we had around 30 rigs of all shapes and sizes. Travis and Crystal drove their 46 Willys from Missouri to Utah with and open top. Then gave it hell up Easter Egg Hill with the front tire going airborne. You can see it in the video below that we put together of the day.  The big hits where the bone stockers making the climb up #EasterEggHill on the #flatiron trail that we ran backwards. W.E.Rock Round 1 2017

WOW!!! What a great event! Talk about action and in your face too. You get so close to the courses it's incredible to watch. It has to be one of the best events to see in person. The shear size and angles of the obstacles these competitors put their rigs on is almost unreal. Here is a video and some pics of the highlights! Enjoy!

Easter Jeep Safari 2016 Flat Fender Fun Run (unoffical)

This was our second time on the Flat Fender Fun Run (fffr) at EJS 2016 . The FFFR is put on by Brennan Metcalf. He was one of the invited readers and a returning reader to the Ultimate Adventure in 2014 and 2015. This FFFR was pretty big with a total of 44 flatties! Here are a few pics of our trip.

On the drive out I had a leak in the radiator. Quick fix while we grabbed some Ice Cream and some fantastic Banana Bread.

On Thursday I met up with a couple of guys from Oregon in their hand built flat fender. We ran Cane Creek. What a great trail with incredible views and an nice challenging climb. I heard someone call it the mini Rubicon. I'm not sure that is what its called but I am okay with that description.
